Barbara Strignano, 47. I work and live in NYC. It is not a quiet place, but it does have some benefits. I have worked in the Swiss Watch Industry for many years. Some of my favorite modern authors are: Anne Rice, Stephen Lawhead. I am teaching myself Visual Basic 6.0. After, if you get through SAP R/3 the rest is icing. I studied for 6 years with the poet Tom McKweon who had been with the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
The Cloak
The night air heavy
as a furnace levitates
to the surface, quaking
opening arms like trawl lines.
A brave fever full of nerve
and granite seizes the lines
circling like a white lantern.
The bright blue blade
of light
hurls its wrap
till the color of you
flares against the Northern sky.
